Well guys, I recently purchased a grouping of unrelated photos on eBay and stumbled across one of a PB4Y with a nose art girl named Green Cherries painted on the side. After doing a bunch of research I actually found the name of the artist, and that he is still alive and well in New Mexico! I sent a nice letter to him asking about the Green Cherries and he wrote me back a nice letter and sent along a signed card. Another claim to fame for this fellow was that his nose art was published in the FIRST color edition of National Geographic! Pretty cool. Anyway, I'm thinking of sending him copies of some of the other PB4Y nose art shots I have to see if he may know the guy who painted them. A great guy!
Attached are two scans of my two definite nose art pieces done by him. Green Cherries and Lady Luck II

That is great Brennan! What was the story behind the name "green cherries"?

Just got these in the mail today. I sent him copies of the photos for his collection and he signed a photocopy of each!
