This is one of my favourite vehicles from World War Two.
I have only 2 original colour photos of the STEYR RSO SCHLEPPER.

I would love to see some more photos from this ?

And yours, that's fantastic.
May I ask, what is with the interesting mix of uniform and casual civilian shirt on this man.
Was that typical for a Wehrmacht driver ?

Hi Ian,

I have seen this type of shirt in my collection and it is worn by those on work detail.
His pants look to be dirty or stained with oil so he may be the driver or a mechanic.
Looks like he's put his cap on for the photo.

Hi Ian,

Do you also like the Russian STZ-5 prime mover which was the Russian equivalent to the Steyr RSO.
Here's one in use by the Germans as a towing vehicle.

a new scan for my collection.
The second original color slide taken in Russia 1942 of my above RSO
I have only 3 original private color slides (2 German and 1 American Kodak) of this very interesting vehicle.
But I think it is very very hard to find and buy unknown color shots of this beast.

Nice photos. The symbol looks like the one used by 282 Inf. Division in 1944.
