here is my first one from my collection.
Can some one tell me what arm band this officer is wearing ?

Here's one of mine. Soldiers from Auf.Abt.29 (29.Inf.Div.) in summer 1941.

I love the details with the wehrmacht zeltban behind the soldiers and even the small details of the food in their hands.

Here some italian officers eating on the Russian front. The one on the left at the table with the moustaches seems to be the general Italo Gariboldi, commander of the Armir (Italian army in Russia).

I remember reading that after the war Russians would interrogate German POWs and the would levy time in camps for such a small thing as eating anything like chicken, pigs etc while in the Rodina.

you mean, if ther german guys said yes we eat chicken every evening, then the russians would bash them into prison for the next 50 years ?

Nice photos everyone.

There is a famous saying that goes something like this: "An army marches on its stomach" and it is no surprise to find lots of
photos in albums of food being prepared and eaten.

Here is a series from an unknown Fernsprecher Kompanie album (telephone communications).
All are captioned on the back and show meal times of this kompanie which was stationed in the Ludinovo area.
