It's a bit of a weeny collection for 7 years but mortgage and bills etc etc kick hell out of disposable income and don't get me started on horse ownership, I could have the RK with vegetables if it wasn't for those damn nags :evil:

Wow! Are the MPs and MG 34 real? Any story on the railway eagle? Nice grouping! I enjoyed that view.

Ok folks, thanx for the kind words. In summary; the MP40 is a plastic BB gun sprayed in metalcote paint until I can round up £1000 (its that horse thing again, don't start me), all the others are deac originals. The jacket is repro with genuine decorations attached and belt and bayonet and binoculars. The railway eagle (excellent centrepiece that it is) I am informed is a repro from Worldwide Arms. I have Russian medals too but they don't light my candle the same as German gear.

even with the MP40 being a pellet gun, you have a good selection of weapons... no chance of me getting a MG34 or even a pistol with The laws here in Ireland, maybe a rifle though

the jacket looks good even if its a repro, its great for display, or at least until you get a genuine one. also nice Close combat clasp and Krim (?) shield, did all the medals come as a grouping?

The whole jacket thing is based loosely on the James Coburn character in Cross of Iron (fave war film) and I can wear the outfit to shows on promotionals for my website www.thefalleneaglestudio.co.uk. The medals have been picked up along the way as the pocket money allows, usually at shows, Beltring or Detling Military Odyssey
By coincidence a K98 is my next target for the weapon collection.
If you like TR militaria just cast an eye over this: http://hermann-historica.com/ (german orders and collectibles since 1919) you will need to register to view but I doubt you will see the likes of this stuff again
